michaellinder 16,611 Posted January 11, 2018 Laurent, I've been viewing this image in connection with a similar, color one. I've concluded that I like this one more, primarily because monochrome seems to reveal the stark nature of the landscape more effectively. Also, the series of snowdrifts work well in providing leading lines to the church. Excellent! - - Best, michael Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 11, 2018 Michael,..Thank you.Agree with you that B/W is always more effective in these snow scenes especially when the sun gets lower and creates shadows so important in these white surfaces.Merci et salutations-Laurent Link to comment

frigo 4,155 Posted January 12, 2018 Hi Holger..Thank you for looking at this series and for the kind appreciation. This is a favourite subject usually very good in snowy conditions but it has been difficult to date as weather has been alternating between snow and rain;from near-20c last week, forecast for tomorrow is +9C with rain.I take tis opportunity to wish you the best for the New Year.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 12, 2018 Greg & Verena,..Glad you like and yes,B/W works better with these snow filled scenes....but I like to test the color, hoping that I will get that good one....eventually.Salutations amicales-Laurent Link to comment

frigo 4,155 Posted January 13, 2018 Wayne, Thank you....you must have guessed that the drift was the subject and my favourite church was the convenient prop.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
andrzejp 6 Posted January 14, 2018 Hi Laurent, What would you do without your favorite church!? This one is actually one of my most preferred versions. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 14, 2018 Andrew...maybe join you in the desert with your favourite model?Seriously, this little church and the lighthouse are the best architecture on the Island and are my fallback subjects to fill my photo urges. At this time of the year, the access road to the lighthouse is not maintained and snowed in until spring,so the church is it.Glad you like this shot and I always appreciate your looking in.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
