frigo 4,155 Posted December 24, 2017 Greg & Verena,This is not far from the edge of the harbour beyond the treeline in the distance and that soft meander is the coarse of this creek in normal time(low tide).As high tide progresses,it starts by filling the meander and then it overflows to cover the whole area.The brownish tint in the ice is from the marsh waters which which mix with the salty sea waters as it invaded the area.There is nothing very spectacular with this cycle as the rise and drawdown is a very slow process;if one is patient/brave enough to stand in the cold,the cracking of the ice sheet can be heard as the the waters put pressure on it.This is as impressive as it gets when the snow has yet to arrive and cover all this.I will try to get this at high tide so you can picture what I mean.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
