michaellinder 16,613 Posted November 29, 2017 It seems that a person shipwrecked on, or near, this beach was trying to send a signal to a potential rescuer. Or . . . the photographer simply found an interesting subject to photograph. The detail and the somewhat desaturated color tones work quite well. - - My best, michael Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted November 29, 2017 Michael,This is rather small,so the latter,my friend.Walking the beach leads to interesting finds as you probably have experienced....walking the beach when the fingers are freezing on the camera seems to somewhat sharpen the focus to find this type of subject. What looks like desaturated colors here is the thin glaze left on the surface when the soaked sand froze up as the tide receeded.Thank you again for looking in and for the kind write.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted November 30, 2017 Laurent, since I live in southern Florida where ice is found primarily in bar drinks, I completely overlooked the possibility of frozen sand. I appreciate your clarification. Link to comment
