michaellinder 16,613 Posted November 11, 2017 Initially, it seemed a bit odd that the young man in the center of the image was in clear focus, while his two buddies were not. I did notice that they all were in motion, when you took the shot. My curiosity was satisfied when I also noticed that most of the image is blurred, but the blur wasn't uniform. I'm guessing that you wanted to emphasize the element of ambiguity. Perhaps you were concentrating on the ambiguity of adolescence, but I suspect the image makes a statement with much broader application. Human existence IS ambiguous. Much to think about within these borders, Jack. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted November 11, 2017 Thanks, Michael. Actually I think I was on my bike and snapped this picture as I passed. You're right that nothing in the picture is absolutely in focus but there is variation in what is blurred and what is relatively sharper which I kind of liked, indicating movement and the vagaries of the moment. That, along with the tones is what led me to post this picture. Don't expect much reaction to it other than your own, though.. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted November 11, 2017 I like it, it has a very natural feel. I think it captures emotion and thereby shows us their friendship.........................Holger Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted February 22, 2018 The motion works, deliberate or not. The kids are interesting--and interested in whatever they are talking about. It's a good street scene. Everything doesn't have to be tack sharp to make the point. ---Lannie Link to comment
