michaellinder 16,611 Posted November 3, 2017 The nature of "they" is quite unknown to us. It seems this creature is content devouring small portions of whatever people don't want. But what happens when it gets stronger and wants more? Sometimes a simple image uncluttered with lots of stuff can be deceptive. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted November 3, 2017 Thanks, Michael. Yeah, it's kind of like that innocent little potted plant, Audrey, in Little Shop of Horrors. As for the virtues of emptiness, I'm an admirer of what the Japanese refer to as "ma" (kind of empty space with character). Sometimes it's hard to find in a cluttered, overcrowded city like Osaka. That's why I always feel rejuvenated when I visit the wide open spaces of Nara Prefecture. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted November 4, 2017 This is a wonderful tribute to baseball Jack, especially with the world series having just ended. Brilliant little shot my friend........................Best Always, Holger Link to comment
Gerald Cafferty 83,467 Posted November 4, 2017 Jack, I cannot fully relate to the cultural references eluded to by Michael and Holger and your replies. Also I would have not seen the possibilities in this scene but I'm truly enlightened now. Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted December 10, 2017 Hello dear friend Jack: The relatively odd comments do not surprise me here. And I mean odd because they are not the usual ones you seen in all sorts of themes and subjects. However, the comments here are as puzzling as the photo itself. I think it is a very serious image, in the sense that you always challenge the viewer, and you somehow squeeze (like from a toothpaste tube) enigmatic reactions. Yes, I see the fun and clever title, but I believe there is always more than meets the eye with your unique POV of things around you. Best regards as always. DG Link to comment
