michaellinder 16,611 Posted October 28, 2017 Honestly, Jack, I was kind for surprised when I initially viewed this image. I thought it was another take on a similar image you previously posted. Then I had an epiphany. The rider in the previous image wore a visor that covered almost his/her entire face. This rider's appearance is radically different, other than sitting on a bicycle and pedaling. It's interesting that the rider apparently is looking straight ahead, not paying any attention to the window displays or the large tree. The image is another successful example of you picking the appropriate scene to show people doing rather ordinary things. Yet, the scene is not at all portrayed in an ordinary way. Link to comment
sjmurray 33,547 Posted October 29, 2017 the rider seems frozen in time, like another display dummy only on a bicycle! Link to comment
krpradu 125 Posted October 29, 2017 What I like here is how you composed and caught this scene, lot of elements:rider, store windows with mannequins, the tree exactly between windows. Also interesting to see rider reflection on window and in left the next walker in reflection. Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted October 29, 2017 Bravo Jack: It really, wholeheartedly brings me joy to see your productive new spurt of magnificent and - unmistakably yours - photographs. I very much like the subtle way you left the title of the image speak for itself. Then, your usual juxtaposition of motion and stillness....or stillness AND stillness, if you catch my drift....T= 1/x..... I like your use of color, I sense a new joy, for which I am extremely happy. I'll leave here, knowing you are a good "reader between the lines". Warmest regards. Loved the photo! DG Link to comment
MarieH 687 Posted November 2, 2017 Perfect balance, perfect composition, I knew this was Jack. However the color blast is unexpected. Great image, Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted November 3, 2017 Michael, Steve, Radu, Daniel, Marie - I don't know about you folks but retroactively reviewing my pictures tells me where I was (how I was seeing the world) at any particular time. In that way they are instructive for me. There's things I would change if I did this again. I think it's a bit muddy in the darker areas but we roll on regardless. New pictures await. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Link to comment

wieslawmamon 0 Posted March 12, 2018 The photo, that at first sight looks a bit like a still from an animated movie, tells me how rewarding it is to be in the right place and wait for the right time. An impeccable and elegant composition with interesting elements but color and light above all resulted in a visually gripping image. Link to comment
