Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 26, 2017 Heck of a photograph. It's rare when you can achieve both a good composition and an instant that captures a particularly dramatic sense of action . This kind of reminds me of something that Frederick Remington might have painted, It's full of energy with characters in spontaneous reaction to the demands of the situation yet despite the frenetic scene, it feels orderly and almost sculptural in the pose of the horse and rider. Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 26, 2017 Sorry, Wayne, I got "timed out" while editing the above post and it doesn't make much sense. This is how it should read: Heck of a photograph. It's rare when you can achieve both a good composition and a picture that captures so well a particular instance of high drama. This kind of reminds me of something that Frederick Remington might have painted, full of energy with characters reacting instantly to the exigency of the moment. Yet despite the frenetic nature of the scene there is an underlying feeling of order and something almost sculptural in the pose and relationship of the horse and rider. Link to comment

Wayne Melia 5,997 Posted October 27, 2017 Thanks, folks. It was a 'be there' moment. Cowboys took part in a race from up a nearby hill/mountain, DOWN the hill, and across this creek to finish in the rodeo ground. Link to comment
