hstelljes 41 Posted October 19, 2017 Love the scene, and his expression, like you've caught him doing something wrong..........I like this in an off beat, cool moment kind of way.....................BR, Holger Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 19, 2017 Thanks, Holger. I liked this myself for much of the same reasons you cited. I was a little disappointed when it failed to receive any comments. That's often the case for some of the pictures that I think are pretty good....silence. Link to comment
Uhooru 2,207 Posted October 21, 2017 Love the Tripod composition plus 1 (viewer). It seems just a snap shot of a buddy, but it has the quality of being caught in the act. And the prime witness is the seemingly nonchalant cluck cluck in the background. Really the elements add up to a little vignette in the story sense. Link to comment
Mark Z 371 Posted October 21, 2017 Shooting chickens in a cage - is that like shooting fish in a barrel?Yukihiro's pose is fluid, dynamic, stable with some tension. He's halfway toward a yoga pose. It goes well with the sweep and slope of the roofs of the structures. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 21, 2017 Barry, Mark...............thanks for the comments; much appreciated. Barry, astute comment about the "tripod" composition. I hadn't consciously realized that myself until you mentioned it. That's a really good observation and something I'll try to be more aware of since I think you're on to something important. Mark, I enjoy reading your comments as much as I like seeing your pictures. This side of PN has fallen into something of a state of disrepair lately. It sure would be nice to get back to the way it was 4 or 5 years ago when interesting dialogues between members were more common. Alas, I think we've entered an era of "likes" and "admires". Better than silence, I suppose but no substitute for real communication. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted October 24, 2017 I like the moment that you have captured, Jack, but the photo also makes me want to be there in that place, to understand it and the culture better, and to appreciate the overall aesthetics even more in person. --Lannie Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 26, 2017 Thanks Lannie, after 30 years I sort of take everything for granted. It's always a struggle to see things with fresh eyes. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted November 1, 2017 " It's always a struggle to see things with fresh eyes." Really, Jack? I suspect what you meant to say, as is the case in connection wit this image, you need to be convinced that the subject matter you see is worthy of clicking the shutter. In my opinion, your photographic eye never is at issue. And, by the way, since I find myself unable to provide a comment different from the earlier ones, suffice it to say that I agree with them all.
