Night at San Giacomo

A photograph has no sound, but this image reminds me of the sound of Venice at night. There is no traffic noise, not the roar of subway trains or the horns and sirens of the big city. There is a quietude and peace that rides the air. In my favorite square there was only the soft chatter of dinner guests, the occasional laughter of the children playing in the square and the sound the wind makes as the flows through the Campo.
