Table Rock Trail, NC September 24, 2017

I thought I had commented on this picture but I guess I forgot to click "add comment" or something. Really like the chosen angle on this one which gives a good view of the rocky trail as it slopes down the hill. It's an inviting picture with excellent tones and what appears to be late afternoon color.

 

There's not a lot of posting from the people I've put on my Favorite Photographers list lately. To me the whole ball of wax is about interaction between creative personalities and if we're just morphing into a site consisting mostly of No Words photo threads, there doesn't seem to be much use posting pictures other than archiving.

Jack, I tried to frame as well as I could as I hiked, but in general I was just documenting the trail, in this case by looking back behind me as I went up. I'm glad it turned out as well as it did.

 

I know that you are right about the comments, since I do remember how much fun it used to be to come to Photo.net--and I actually learned something from some of the comments. You and Michael Linder are about the only people commenting on my photos these days, and so for all practical purposes I really have been using the site more and more for storage. Most of my postings these days are on Facebook, mostly because most of my pictures are of the Linville Gorge--and what I am learning on Facebook is mostly about the Gorge itself, because of such sites as "The Linville Gorge Facebook Group" and "Lovers of Linville Gorge." So, I am getting a lot of exchanges there, but, when I post something about the photos themselves (mine or those of others), I typically get silence--or maybe a "like."

 

I guess I just might as well get used to the fact that the old Photo.net will never come back--and I guess it died a long time before it migrated to this new address. It was pretty much moribund, though. Maybe it will change back to what it was, but I doubt it.

And now I see that I can't get paragraph breaks, no matter what I do. Frankly, I cannot quite comprehend how the site administrators could be so indifferent to what their customers want.
