House with Yellow Door

Lannie, although the yellow door clearly attracts attention, it isn't fully responsible for the house's character. Part of it is due to the symmetrical construction; another part results from the simplicity of design; and, finally, the tree(s) behind the house give it shelter and shade. This image demonstrates how ordinary subject-matter can be transformed into an extraordinary image.

Michael, I didn't think too much about the trees until I read what you wrote. Then it occurred to me that the dappled light created by the shadows of trees not in the picture were a big part of the appeal for me.

The other trees behind it do frame it perfectly. Thank you for drawing that to my attention.
