Almost Frozen

Astonishing, captivating and very powerful. One of the most striking and masterfully captured images, with the fluidity of water in several planes, and the solidness of ice on other. B&W enhances the image, in the good old-school tradition of Ansel Adams, where B&W what the "only" resource, and with such limited leeway, he managed to produce masterful pieces. And this, IMHO is a masterful piece. Too bad not many newer members in PN appreciate this artful and skillful presentation. A silent "Bravo" from my seat. DG

ZT, I add another word, "iconic," to my photographic vocabulary, thanks to you. FYI, the Genesee River runs through a deep gorge (the "Grand Canyon of the East." in Letchworth State Park. There are three significant waterfalls in the park; what's depicted in the photograph is part of one of them.
