Simple, yet fascinating study of shape.

The concept is interesting and well achieved. My only quarrel is with the title, which I do not understand, unless it is a projection of the subconscious or a literary metaphor. DG

The title came to me because the stairway is located on Alcatraz in San Francisco Bay. The inmates couldn't always see what was going on in San Fransisco but sounds from parties that were happening on shore or on boats could be heard. That might qualify as a kind of Hell. Thank you for your comment. I'm sure others may have wondered about the title.

Enigmatic, but precisely because of that, your photograph had an ulterior meaning, independently of its "photographic" (superb) elements.
