krpradu 125 Posted April 12, 2017 I am amaze how this bird is not afraid to be so close to human presence, never can do in my area something like this.I think cause of long hard winter they accept and feel that human can help them.As Gregory says whole serie is interesting. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted April 13, 2017 Greg and Verena, This is not my hand but that of a generous gentleman with a trunk full of peanuts and seeds in his daily distribution to the birds and squirrels in this remote park.Funny to see his car parked just under a ''No Feeding the animals'' sign;this woodpecker watched him as he inserted the peanut into a deep grouve in the bark, waited for the man to step back and then took the peanut and relocated it to another spot before proceeding to enjoy. Then the man started his peanut throws with amazing precision to the ''herd'' of grey and black squirrels lined up in front of him.Pity I did not have more time to widen this series.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted April 13, 2017 Hi Radu, As I noted to G&V above, the man was a regular provider and could get very close. Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
