Scaleber Foss waterfall in Yorkshire. Experimental use of the Lee Big Stopper used in conjunction with the Nikon 14 - 24 mm lens. A complicated set - up but it seemed to work

What a beautiful place. Your eye for composition is good as always. It's obviously a long exposure on a tripod but I wish the site would show us the numbers in that settings box. Excellent work Alf..................BR, Holger

MAURIZIO ........ Many Thanks!

HOLGER...........Thank you very much! I know just what you mean about the settings, there is no option to enter that information when uploading the image. But here are the settings Nikon D810, ISO 100, 50 seconds @ F/ 8, Lee Big Stopper Filter attached to 14 - 24 mm F/ 2.8 Nikon lens.

WAYNE.........Many Thanks! It takes a bit of getting used to, but once the lens adapter is fitted, the rest is fairly straight forward.

Hi Alf,

I feel like I could be swallowed up in the swirling circle at the bottom. The movement is very effective. I like the composition very much. Hope you are enjoying your spring!

Alf - - Wow; a 50 second exposure!! Not only did your settings help you skillfully and artistically capture the small step waterfalls at the top and toward the center, they also contributed to a magnificent, yet peaceful, maelstrom and several eddies in the pond containing the island. Extraordinary work, as I'ver come to expect, hands down. - - My best, michael

DONNA .......Always good to hear from you! Spring is in the air, fresh winds, light rain and the smell of damp earth, bluebells and damp dewy grass, makes one feel good to be alive! Glad you like the image and thank you for your kind words.......Alf

MICHAEL Yes my first experiment with my new set - up Lee Big Stopper and Nikon 14 - 24 mm lens. It's quite a contraption to put together, but well engineered and effective! Thank you so much for your encouragement Michael, always good to read your views! ...........Best Regards ..........Alf

Hi Alf,

Sorry for sending you a message via the Comments section, but I don't know how else to do it with the sites new design. I just wanted to let you know that I am not going to be an active member of PN any more because they took away the photo ratings area which I used often for rating my new images. I will check in from time to time to see what my PN friends (like yourself) have been up to, but for the time being I intend to post only on Flick and Facebook. All best of success, my friend and keep up the great work! Robert Melone (rjmelone@verizon.net)
