ENTWINED

The "Dark Hedges" in Northern Island have been made famous by being used as a location in "Game of Thrones" which is probably why I couldn't get a shot without there being people present. I think this one person works ok though?

The visual magic trick is skilfully done here and I like the BW choice. I wonder if some processing has been done to the foreground (I mean additionally) or is it all optical effects? Thanks for sharing, Alf! Regards, VS

Many Thanks for your interest and thoughtful feedback Vjacheslav! ....The out of focus foreground is in fact the roadway in front of me which is a lot closer and higher than the rest of the image. The trees themselves are spaced out a lot more than they look in the image, but that is the effective of compression using a Nikon 80 - 400 mm lens @ 360mm ....Regards .........Alf

Hi Alf, You've returned with an image I like very much. On the tech side the tones, details and pov are all excellent but what got me was looking down the road and leaving this world to go to some fantasy place. The person walking down the road has the perfect hat for this image. Highly enjoyable work my friend..........Best Always, Holger.............Oh I just read your intro, well that explains my initial thoughts. Take care.

You have created an image with a lot of atmosphere, a little spooky, with the over hanging heavy limbs dwarfing the lone figure. This is an image that demands a second look.

Alf: Moody and quite emotive, a tad spooky until I see the figure and that companionship boosts my bravery ;-). The mass of tree trunks are mesmerizing and the choice of b/w is perfect with "The Raven" immediately coming to mind.... Mike

I love it, Alf! It feels like the trees are just about to take the initiative to do something dramatic, and I'm hoping the lone figure gets to the patch of light before they take action. And in addition to the story the image hints at, the lighting and detail-in-the-right-places are stunning. The next time someone asks me why people still use B&W, this will be one of the images I show them.

LESLIE......... Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback and amazing compliment! I find myself drawn more and more to B & W these days, even though it still doesn't seem as popular with the majority.
