Julie H 312 Posted May 24, 2017 Permission: Given the hand gesture to cover her face of one woman, and what to me looks like uncomfortably self-conscious fixed expression of the foreground man, I think this group doesn't want to be visually commented on by this photographer. But the photographer has proved that she has the right by doing it anyway. On the other hand, by posting the picture here on Photo.net and especially by being chosen as Picture of the Week, the photographer DOES give permission for me to comment on her picture. To my eye, it's an unremarkable, jumbled scene of people who don't want me to be looking at them. michaellinder 16,612 Posted May 27, 2017 Perhaps the "person hiding behind her hand" is not the only one in this assemblage who didn't want to be photographed. Link to comment
MarieH 688 Posted May 28, 2017 I agree with JulieH. Its one of those ubiquitous crowd shots with a mildly interesting face at center. He has no particularly interesting expression that would strengthen the scene. I do think the women in the photo to be the more interesting subjects because of their pained expressions and I would like to know more about them but the shot lets me down there. This is a photo to learn from. When there is a lot happening in a crowd it is difficult to always see the small but more significant details such as those women behind the man. An interesting photo nevertheless. Link to comment
