Guest Guest Posted October 18, 2003 almost perfect.? but there is the cut tablecloth at the bottom. it really disturb me . perhaps you could make it less white to smooth this cutting ?congratspingu pingu Link to comment
ric_s 0 Posted October 19, 2003 Lighting is fantastic, creates a really moody shot, tells me poverty, she looks sad - great.I agree with pingu, a tiny bit less crop at the bottom, but it doesn't spoil a great composition Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 20, 2003 when I look at it i hear beethovens "für elise" played on the old petrof grand (?) that´s a little bit out of tune.I like the shot. Great atmosphere. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted October 20, 2003 Grittier than your normal work, and surprising in a sense; I expected the pianist to be much younger from the thumbnail. I like the assorted articles around the piano, the frame on the wall, the netted covering on the piano, the lamp, etc. The shadow of the face on the wall almost makes it look like a duet is in progress. przemyslawszot 0 Posted October 20, 2003 Czesc Piotr, jak zwykle doskonale zdjecie, ale tym tazem nie jest to tylko wspaniale zdjecie ale takze bardzo podoba mi sie tytul i alternatywa prawdziwego pianisty, tego ktory gra tylko dla milosci muzyki. Przemek. Link to comment
galina stepanova 0 Posted October 21, 2003 The photo is very high quality, technically perfect, great light, it can be applied to all photos in your portfolio. The pianist... but she is not playing. She is still, deep inside, her hands position is not usual for piano player or it is hard to see... Looks to me she is just sets near grand piano and thinking, possibly is getting ready to play. Is this what you mean? I hope I understood it correctly. Moody picture. Regards, Galina Link to comment
koval 0 Posted October 21, 2003 Well spoted. She is more of getting there and imagining the music . She is deeply in thoughts..but the music sounds for the rest of us..well at least for me . :)) pk Link to comment
margaret_s. 0 Posted October 21, 2003 I was just going to say that she's not playing and then read the comments to see that GS had already spotted this! Yep.. the hands are a giveaway.. if she were playing, the wrists would be elevated and the hands arched.. I'm trying to hear what she's playing and keep coming up with something like Chopin or even late Brahms.. but if she's Polish, she might be partial to Chopin :-) I like the fact that you chose an older woman for your subject - it works very well with the dark, moody feel, gives it more depth too. Perhaps the only thing I find a little distracting visually are the bright white reflections behind her. I don't mind the one above the piano so much as it lets us know there's something there and thus fills the dark void. I would also have preferred just a little bit of space between the fringe of the crocheted afghan and the bottom of the frame. Small detail. Nice work Piotr! Link to comment
