"In every work of art the subject is primordial, whether the artist knows it or

not. The measure of the formal qualities is only a sign of the measure of the

artist’s obsession with his subject; the form is always in proportion to the

obsession."_Author: Alberto Giacometti

those details really emerge in the larger version and the more I look at it, the more they become more evident.  This is a fine rendition of the stillness of early morning - quiet, subtle, and quite powerful.

A beautiful image, in a nicely understated way, and you've brought out that evocative mist so beautifully. I noticed that I was having a hard time pulling my eyes away from that central glowing column of mist to explore the details in the background, and it occurred to me that this might be because that column is so centrally located. It might be interesting to try about a 1/6 crop from the right, just enough to decenter the column. That might produce kind of an invitation to the viewer to explore--and the exploration is definitely rewarding! Nice image!
