Mike,

Thank you.We managed and got our power restored today after an eight day outage brought about by this major ice storm which paralysed this province and left some 200k clients in the dark/cold.Will be a few more days, maybe weeks before power is back for all.

This can be a good photo subject but as phenomenon for people is not at all good as I said before on other your photo.

Laurent- we hope that there was only bending going on,and not breaking- glad you got your power back, we know what that means, even if you do have a generator. You have quite a bit of sun there- you might consider looking into solar with battery back up.

Hi Jatinder,

Thank you so much. Now that we have recovered our elect.power,we get back to normal and file this crisis in our ''experience'' folder.

Greg and Verena,

I know you have also experience this type of crisis. The power returned here but some 5000 homes are still in the dark/cold and it is cold, near -20c at night;we lost it power again briefly and I guess it will be that way for some time as the grid is very fragile and tree falls on lines will occur as the ice lets up and the winds pick up.Solar power is an option but not that feasible here as the heavy snowfalls cover the panels...my better option is to seek warmer skies for the winter months as my old (older) bones find it harder and harder to cope.
