Marvin 4 Posted February 1, 2017 Having tried panning at fast shutter speeds, to achieve sharpness, and using panning at slower speeds, to instill a sense of motion, here I used no panning and a slow (1/80th sec) for create an artistic result. My wife hates it. Comments?? Link to comment
Leslie Reid 5,214 Posted February 1, 2017 I like the concept a lot--the blur really emphasizes the speed here, and the format also contributes to that feeling. I think the photo would be stronger if the two horses differed more in color so that they didn't meld into a single form (if only that gray from a few photos back had been the lead, but if wishes were horses...) Alternatively, if they weren't superimposed quite as much, that might help (but the format would be difficult to accommodate), or if the near horse's head were superimposed on the far horse instead of the hindquarters, or maybe if it was even more blurred so that the viewer's eye wasn't even trying to make sense of the details. But I think it's definitely an idea worth experimenting with further! Link to comment
