tm_j 30 Posted January 29, 2017 Thanks Wobby! Good to hear from you and .. sort of 'YES' .. thinking of giving up on mirrorless since it won't be able to get shot like this . Mirrorless works with 90% of bird shots but the last 10% won't happen because the TV-liked viewfinder can not and does not allow tracking fast moving birds well (only a mirror setup of the DSLR allow full viewing at all time). I got tired of tending to 7 cameras and 4 camera systems. Link to comment

tm_j 30 Posted January 30, 2017 Grazie Mille Giangiorgio! Good to here from you! It's very nice to come back to my Canon setup after a while now. I always know my Canon setup is the best but it's my ache left bicept that leads me to try various lighter system. I used to shoot 4/3 Olympus and was relatively happy with Olympus. The new mirrorless Oly's is light years ahead of what I had but being mirrorless it's different from the DSLR 4/3 Oly's I had. I don't think mirrorless can allow shooting fast flying bird due to the 'TV' view finder. I am thinking of going back to just Canon and Sony (Canon for birdshooting and Sony for lanscape and travel). Not Here 93 Posted January 31, 2017 Well, no matter the equipment, it's the finger on the shutter that produces excellent shots like this. You're the best... Mike Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted January 31, 2017 Thanks Mr. Mancil! Thanks for the vote of confidence, I know I am fast but I know a few who are .. faster. LOL! Since you shoot Nikon I want to let you in a tempting secret and that's the D500 + Nikon 200-500mm . A lot of my bird shooting friends had gone to the 'dark' side bought this Nikon setup, some even sold all their Canon and live off this setup. I am wondering doing an 'Edward Snowden' myself ... to see how good it is. :-) .... I've been shooting Canon the last 40+ years and I will always consider myself a Canon man regardless what I use to shoot but I think Mr. Canon should consider something along what Sony mirrorless is doing so I don't have to have too many system. If any maker ever put together a good system with lenses that fit my need Mr. Canon can kiss me 'adios' .. too. :-) Link to comment
