So often ice on a lake is cloudy or covered with snow, so it really is special when there is a thick, clear, bare layer, and these frozen bubbles are visible.  The three-dimensional forms are similar to, but even more fantastic, than the rocks at Bryce Canyon.

Thanks for your comment, Mark. Abraham Lake is always extremely windy because of the mountains around it that funnel the weather changes through a narrow gap. So the surface of the ice is often snow-free, making for unique opportunities to view these bubbles.
