jorge_fernandez3 0 Posted January 22, 2017 The green background gives a feeling of freedom! Take good care. Link to comment

Leslie Reid 5,205 Posted January 22, 2017 I like the composition here a lot. I was startled to realize that the brilliant white of the fence leading me into the deep shadows of the forest is almost a red herring when I suddenly noticed the house and farm buildings tucked away in the upper corner. That corner balances the overall composition amazingly well. I'm a bit puzzled by the softness and amount of foreshortening in the foreground--it looks very dream-like compared to the level of detail present in the background; that, and the way the fence suddenly stops, makes it seem a bit like the foreground exists in a different and very painterly reality. But it all works very well together, and the contrast between the bright golden field and the deep forest shade is really striking. It would be nice to have a little bit more detail in the golden pasture, but I'm enjoying it very much as it is. Link to comment
samschnieders 1 Posted January 22, 2017 Leslie, Thank you for these insightful and helpful comments. I sort of wish I had shot it at a higher aperture - like F22, but I didn't have a tripod and didn't want to go more than 400 ISO so the foreground is not quite as sharp as I'd wanted, however, as you so aptly pointed out, it does give it a more dreamy look which works as well. Thank you again, Sam Link to comment
