Browsing through last year's images. Found this one from last May,

taken in my favorite park/woods.

I think you used the depth of field really effectively here, and your placement of the spidery arms of the midground branches help make those odd-shaped galls look like stylized animal forms--there's a lot of energy in those flailing arms.

Thanks, Leslie.  I think I noticed this image from last year because I am stuck in the dreary winter weather and thinking about Spring and the colors of the woods when things are growing.
