Many thanks.  Your kind comments are encouraging.  Most of my painterly images stem from Topaz Impression which allows the emulation of various paint brushes and brush strokes.  The fun part comes in choosing and adjusting the effect and like a painter using for example a wacom pen like a brush to (paint/mask) where to apply or reduce the effect. The enlarged image may show this better.
