Mosaic Canyon Death Valley

Really cool place, and nice colors--I'm particularly enjoying how the grays in the sky and stream bed echo each other and set off the warm tones of the rock. It's a tricky one, though--there are 5 zig-zag ridges of rock here, including the one in the lower left, but #2 and #4 (on the right) are nearly the same tone at the center of the image, so it's difficult to figure out what's going on topographically [i just realized that there's another right-hand ridge behind #4--I'll call it #4.5]. I wonder if it would be possible to carefully darken the lower parts of ridge #4 (and maybe not #4.5) to match its upper part--that would make its position less ambiguous and would also focus some attention on the nice textures and profile of ridge #2. I sure like those shapes in ridge #3 and how they lead us to the intersection between ridges #3 and #4.5 against the glowing backdrop of #5. 

Mark,  The larger view is needed to appreciate the detail and textures you have captured.  Nice image.  I see at least two images here.  The lighter tan rocks in the middle just about the dry stream have an intriguing shape.  I kind of see a cat here.  I think this area of the image could be made into an image in itself, creating an interesting abstract-like image.   Nice image as you have it.  Did you have to hike far to get to this spot?   Larry
