I was going through my archives and kept skipping by this one because I felt that I must have shared it here at photo.net. I could not find it in my folders so here it is - hopefully not for a 2nd time.  This is a photo of Haines Junction which is a small village in Yukon (Canada).

I had a place reserved in Whitehorse which was 155 km away and about two hours of driving at night with fog and no street lights.  I had stopped too many times taking images and if memory serves me well this was probably the last photo of the day back in 2009.  If I did not reserve that room in Whitehorse I would have looked for a parking area in Haines Junction and slept in my van.

The Village of Haines Junction lies on the edge of a vast and spectacular wilderness, and is a gateway to the Kluane National Park and Reserve. The community lies within the traditional territory of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations, Southern Tutchone people who have lived in the area for thousands of years.

You couldn't have added anything to make it more dramatic. Blue to gold, winding road, misty, cloudy, mountains, pines and civilization in the bg.

I am glad I found it also. This is the time of year that I am taking fewer new images so that drives me to my archives.

Thanks. I really enjoyed that road trip especially as I was alone and free to make unconstrained decisions on how much time to stop, etc.

Thanks for letting me know what you liked. One of the things that appealed to me was the color on the right balanced with the orange color on the left.  All the very best,
