Thanks - there is a body of water at the bottom of this image called dezadeesh Lake along the Haines rd. This was taken 23 Sep 2009 but I have seen some nice fall photos of areas along the dempster highway around 5th September.  Hope this helps.  The dicey part of my drive here is that I started early in the morning, it is now late afternoon and i do want those late afternoon colors and I have a couple of hours more of night driving when I am tired and hungry.  

I used my Nikkor 70-300mm at 200mm - lots of folks say that going past 200mm on this lens produces lack-lustre images re landscape.

Thanks. Technological improvements in bodies and lens make you want to revisit places. I have learned, even in my tiny local park, that I have revisited more than 100 times, you can never quite repeat a shot. Would have loved to have my current equipment but I have to content myself with what I achieved here.
