I absolutely love it.

I like the way you post processed it. I am sure a lot of people would disagree as the post procesing is extensive. But I am all for it when it works for me. And for me, it works. I am sometimes pushing my images too.

A very beautiful image, Mark--I love the way you've handled the colors here, and the play of light on the valley bottom and mountains is gorgeous. The corners seem a bit dark--added vignetting? or lens shade? In any case, this is one I'd be very happy with on my wall!

I hear you on the vignetting, Mark! I use it too, sometimes, but probably not as much as most people do. More often, I add gradients in from the corners or sides in Lightroom and then manipulate them so I can control how I'm treating each corner independently. Sometimes I'll darken darks, sometimes darken lights, sometimes reduce the exposure, and sometimes reduce the clarity or contrast. For my own photos, my aim is to guide the viewer's eye to where I want them to be looking, but for the viewer to be completely unaware of the fact that I'm trying to guide them. I've also seen photos where strong vignetting is an important structural element of the composition, and ones (like this one) where a moderate vignette gives a nice completeness to the image, but I've never been able to pull those off convincingly. So the bottom line is that I'm not very practiced at real vignetting, so anything I say about it should probably be taken with a grain of salt. Or a playa full of salt.
