I like the way the guardrails lead the viewer's eye through the image. One gets the feeling the road goes on forever.

Well done.  We don't see this view often, most people (myself included) climb the slight embankment at the other end for the classic shot... Mike

Thanks, Jim. There is that feeling while driving this section, I think.

Mike, I think that we see it but don't have time to really notice it.  When driving one typically sees this for an instant before it is gone.  It is not a dangerous section but it does require one's full attention.

I have thought about climbing up the Tanawha Trail and down to get the "classic" view, but then I say, "What do I have to add that hasn't already been done?"  That spot does give good views off to the peaks on the rim of Linvile Gorge, though, if one doesn't like pictures of roads and roadways.
