Lots of different frames show up here, lots of layers.  It's interesting that the basket seems to lose its three-dimensional depth, while the flat photo gives the illusion of depth.  Nice use of color.  I think the reflection off the book page is natural and adds depth, and it makes it clear that it is a page in a book.

Thanks for the comments on this picture. This was one of those serendipitous pictures where the book happened to be open to that particular page and I noticed the correspondence to the basket of fruit on the same coffee table. For me this picture plays with different perceptual levels which Marl picked up on. His comment pretty well sums up the way I see it myself. Thanks again and a happy new year to you all.

This pseudo-cool foodie trendiness that we see nowadays everywhere in the media would be much more interesting if they would use images like this. Nice one Jack.

Here we have a basket case and a sinking feeling vs proper storage,  ready to eat and improving one's immune system. I know, its complicated and you may have to book me for therapy. (*_*)

Hi Jack, I think to be creative - a person should also have a sense of humour, you definitely have that! Very well thought out and I think totally Jack McRitchie (in a good way) Best wishes. Sarah.

Hello Dear friend, an Ocean apart. I hope you are well. I really miss your postings, of which I have seen very few of late. However, that gave me a chance to leisurely cruise your posted images, certain to find something....speical, peculiar, characteristic, "trademarked" in your portfolios, so I chose this one to send you my greetings, perhaps for the vivid colors and also for the interesting/clever/witty composition. Now I can consider my weekend complete...ha ha ha... Warmest regards. DG.
