Wayne Sadler 562 Posted December 14, 2016 Flowers are challenging subjects for me because they arrest attentionwith their hues, shapes, smells – making it more difficult to see themas anything other than flowers. But flowers, like everything else, are more than they appear. Good art helps us see more. A Zen saying,“When a flower is truly seen, it sees itself”. Comments and critiqueappreciated. Link to comment
Bachir 0 Posted December 14, 2016 Wayne, Great study of a flower and I like the originality of your composition. When sitting next to a flower, one is never alone! Best, Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted December 14, 2016 I like what you did with this Wayne. Really interesting work in the background areas and the water drops are a for sure plus. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted December 14, 2016 It's the ability to appreciate form while escaping the trap of labels and how things should look that distinguished the artist. Edward Weston was the master in this regard. The only thing I'm not particularly fond of in the drop of water hanging off the lip of the flower which I think detracts from the pure form. Wayne Sadler 562 Posted December 15, 2016 Gail,Many thanks. The background was an after thought to further the meaning. It is a night image of the sky near the little dipper. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 562 Posted December 15, 2016 Jack,Many thanks. I too felt the droplet distracting until I saw it as an earring. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted December 17, 2016 Wonderful form. I see this as someone on bended knees with arms folded. My vision would be to convert this to BW because I don't think that the color adds anything here and I don't say that in a disparaging manner. Link to comment
