Chesnee, South Carolina Under Smoky Skies (Wildfires in Mountains to the West)

This was made on U.S. 221 between I-85 and I-40. Since I-85 was aparking lot all the way down to Spartanburg, and I had to go beyondCharlotte, I simply headed up to I-40, which does not go throughCharlotte. It was the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and the traffic wasterrible on the interstates.

I like this one, Lannie, the heart and soul of obscure, small town America. This almost feels like an iconic postcard of a a one main street town. I'm still in The United States of Trump but will be leaving for home tomorrow. Thank God.
