Ken Ratcliffe 102,538 Posted November 27, 2016 Like this, it's one of those "gems" that you spot and capture. They catch your eye and hopefully you capture them just as they are. Nice rich colours and light, really beautiful. Best regards Ken. Link to comment
Leslie Reid 5,178 Posted November 27, 2016 I'm really enjoying this one, Michael--I think it's the combination of the composition and colors that grabbed me the most. It makes me want to step into the frame and explore what's around the corner. It might be tempting to add just the slightest (as in "not really noticeable") of gradients to darken and maybe cool down the left edge of the frame (the near end of the stone wall) to emphasize the feeling of motion toward the opening--definitely not necessary (and maybe not even desirable), but it might be fun to play with. I'm also smiling at the green leaves in the patch of sunlight on the path--it could not have been choreographed better. They're calming down what would otherwise have been a distracting flash of light and are also subtly drawing me back into the foreground. I like the composition here a lot. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted November 27, 2016 I think Leslie is right the combination of composition and color grabs our attention. Great pov Michael. Love those branches , they just reach out and act like a leading line around the corner. Well seen.BR, Holger Link to comment
photo by patsy dunn 1 Posted November 28, 2016 Michael, I don't know how I over looked this image. Beautiful scene with amazing POV, colors, lighting & details. You can't help but wonder where the path leads. Excellent image !! Take care, Patsy Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted December 3, 2016 Sorry for being so delinquent in acknowledging and responding to your thoughtful comments. Leslie, I see your point about the use of a gradient to correct the image's left edge. Sad to say, that's a technique I haven't learned yet. When I need to darken or lighten an area, I've been using Viveca or PSE15's dodge/burn tool. Link to comment
