Amazing work . . .!  I got confused looking at your technical data; was the lens you used 400mm or 800mm?  Given the detail and clarity of the image, it seems to me you used an 800mm,

Robert, Jorge, Michael- thanks so much

Re: the lens   This time I had the Sony set at aps-c sensor which cut the mp down from 40 to 18, but added another 50% to the effective range of the lens. So with canon 100-400, plus 2x extender, plus smaller sensor = 1200mm .

So, basically, I have the canon 100-400mm lens. I added a 2x extender, which the exif data recognizes as 200-800mm. With the camera sensor set to aps-c (small sensor) this increases the effective lens power by 50% hence the rate of 1200mm equivalent., all from the same lens.

Excellent details in large view can be seen, this is today in maximum size as they say,I hope to see it a bit because from two days is cloudy and snow.

Hi Jim,, definitely NOT handheld- even the tripod had a hard time keeping this thing steady.

Radu- looks like will be cloudy here tonight too.
