This is a flood plain and this summer the river was high, thus, a lot of water went into this low area. The trees fall in the soft ground and it becomes a huge area of dead trees and rotting trunks. This was taken from the bike trail.

In actuality it might be kind of a swamp but photographically it presents wonderful opportunities and for our purposes, that;s what counts. I really like the subdued color and soft light you've captured here, Steve.
