It rather looks like the ostriches have come to look at the people. Nice tones--everything works, particularly your persistent dry wit.

Thanks to your pov and framing it does seem like the ostrich is the one doing the observing. Of course we all are.

As Dan's comments indicate, it's tough to tell whether the ostriches are enclosed or, instead, whether it's the humans.  The ostrich to the left seems to have a smarta#* look; it's defying you to explain why you are shooting this photograph.

The interplay of geometric elements is fascinating and gives the image additional interest, as if the ostrich and the passer-by aren't interesting enough.  Typical McRitchie - - reminding us not to get too attached to nature.

When I posted this I was curious what kind of reaction it would get. It's certainly not an easy picture with its odd angles, its ostrich and people in awkward positions, cut off or partially hidden behind posts. But there was something there for me, starting with the quizzical expression of the bird. The question was whether anyone else would be attracted to such an idiosyncratic composition. The remarks about who is in the cage and who is watching who fit right in with the way I saw this. though. So thanks for vanishing my doubts as to.whether there's even an audience for this kind of odd-ball picture.

Thanks. I've been starting to experiment with more unconventional compositions lately. anything to shake things up and disrupt the usual programmed ways I perceive things.
