Penguin, Kobe Oji Zoo

Why am I reminded of the opening to "Sunset Boulevard?" As I recall, William Holden is floating dead in a swimming and narrating the story. I guess every picture tells a story, whether intended or not. 

Great composition on this shot. The penguin seems pretty listless, which would not be surprising considering that it doesn't have much to do there.

Nicely seen and composed, great silhouette and shapes.

Out of your usual syllabus but still carries all the quality elements of your style. The combined grafical elements, both linear and circular and a dose of unexpected. Here is the "flying-floating" figure of a penguin.

One big swimming pool just for himself and he is on holiday, how lucky! Sometimes I wish i was...;)

My first thought was climate change.  Framing the penguin as you have give it a lot of room to explore its .... environment?  Watery cell?   The color scheme works here, pale with the shock of black.

Serene, yet unsettling. This has depth, but the penguin and his shadow seem to add flatness. Very nice Jack!
