Na Pali Valley and Cliffs

Large View Preferred. Our breathes were blown away by the awe of

this view, the Na Pali valley and cliffs on the island of Kauai. I have

posted two of several images from here and ask your preference and

comments. The valley opens right into the bright blue ocean. Thanks

You've captured some very beautiful light in this photo.  Were you flying, hiking, or driving?

BTW, I prefer this image of the two.

I don't know why, but I prefer the other one. Both of them are good.

J,  Thanks for your visit.  We were standing at the farthest north overlook on the Waimea Canyon trail.  We spent the entire day looking at many sites.  I like both images.  The color and dynamic range pops more in this one.  Larry

Epstein,  I too have preferences for both.  We also got several other decent images here.  The grandeur of the cliffs and valley as it opens into the ocean is difficult to capture in a photo.  Thanks for following me on PN.  Larry

Richard,  Thanks so much for your laudatory comments.  This is one of nature's splendors that we as photographers want to capture well.  How difficult it is to represent the grandeur of this valley and the Na Pali cliffs.  I appreciate your visit. Larry

Tony,   Thanks so much for your endorsement on this one.  I'm not sure how iconic this is, but we are most fortunate to have gotten a look at the Na Pali cliffs from here.  We also wanted to see them from a boat, but the logistics didn't make any sense.  Should you get to Kauai, be sure to book your boat trip from the south of the island as it seems that's where most of the tours are.  We figured it would be from the north end since the Na Pali cliffs are on the north.  Larry
