Coho 2 Posted October 26, 2016 From what I can tell, many of you seem to prefer close crops when itcomes to avian photos. I am just curious as to why? Link to comment
gregverena 339 Posted October 26, 2016 Maybe because close detailed shots are difficult to accomplish well (which you have done here). As with close ups with flowers, it reveals details that normally one would not be able to see. It takes skill, as well as luck and the proper equipment, to pull that off. Anybody can take a blurry shot of a bird in flight- one that shows the feathers and features clearly is one worth viewing. That being said, there are many spectacular distance shots, which rely more on the ambience for their beauty, since the birds themselves can only be silhouettes- I'm thinking of the gorgeous shots of flamingos in golden sunsets- can't remember the photographer's name. wobby 0 Posted October 27, 2016 Very nice image. Sharp and good light/colors. Now that you mention the crop, I would have liked the foreground mirror-effect to be seen in full, rather than cut in half, but that is a very personal matter/taste. Best regards, Wobby. Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 454 Posted October 31, 2016 You have been able to catch this typical behavior of flamingos, very good the light, the colors and the details, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
