Right  when  I opened  the PN, noticed  this  beautiful landscape  image  of yours. Excellent composition,  the  light in the hill side and  the  highlighted  grout  os  trees  beautifully  balancing each others, the distribution of  the layered  landscape,  the proportional  water, foreground, the  reeds  in the place in the  water  where  you  like  to have, the reflected  sky all, all  beautifully  placed  and  masterfully photographed,  Did I mention  the color? A stunning image indeed.  Tony.  It  is a great  work.

Scouting out a location pays off!  We didn't go to the Discovery Centre, but looking at map details it looks like this was shot very near there.  Nice one!

Bela, Mike, Patsy, Jeff, David, Alf, George, Jack, Gregory & Verena, and Pierre - thank you very much for dropping by and commenting. It is always satisfying to know that other photographers appreciate one's work while offering both uplifting and constructive comments.

Bela: you almost made me blush.

Jeff - you mentioned 'map details'. I would appreciate if you would share with us what tool you are using. I use google maps and google earth and it was difficult to ascertain that this image was taken near the discovery Center which is an accurate assessment.

Jack: Re Light: I did not think I would be able to walk away from a quite overcast sky with anything like this. I hung around mostly because there was a couple who had a portable computer and a hand held camera. They engaged me in photographic conversation. I think they were impressed with my tripod and the shiny bubble level on top of my camera. As we chatted, I noticed pockets of light appearing and disappearing. I shouted "wow - look at that" as a way to highlight something special and to allow me to focus on taking images.

I got busy and started 'working' the scene but I still have to evaluate whether there are any others worth sharing.

Many thanks again, keep on shooting (images of course) and I plan to visit everyone's latest images shortly,

Hi Tony,

Yes, I used google maps & earth, and studied other photographs of the area.  Particularly useful was a photo of these two islands & trees from a higher perspective.  I estimated your position based on the gap in the islands and trees in your photo.  Looks almost due north, but slightly NNW, with the sunrise coming from the right (east).

Thanks. I was thinking you had a smart phone app that allowed you to do this sort of 'analysis' but instead you were using some standard tools along with your brain which seemed to be going on all 12 cylinders.

All the best,
