This is another view from the Valley of the Gods, southern Utah. Note similarities to

nearby, and more famous, Monument Valley. Your thoughts and comments respectfully

requested and always sincerely appreciated.

A wild and wooly place, but impressive and beautiful at the same time.  The b/w processing accentuates the rugged terrain well and your choice of composition works.  I particularly like the boulder that punctuates the top of the left spire... Mike

The larger view is just great, it allows closer inspection of the details. Great tones and composition on this as well.

I like this image a lot--it works beautifully in b&w, and I love how you've framed it with the tall foreground mesa on the right. You've also brought out beautiful detail here in the rocks--I think your choice of b&w is particularly effective for that. The image is currently a bit on the dark side--you may be able to pull even more detail out of the rocks by increasing the range of tones in the rocks through pulling the light-medium tones even lighter. That also might make them really sing against that beautiful dark sky (I guess I'm thinking of what a red filter would have done to red rock against blue sky). I also really like the wide format you've used--it conveys a sense of the scale of the landscape. Anyway, it's a very beautiful image--you're persuading me that I've got to get back to southern Utah sometime soon!

Here is a lighter version. The original went darker than intended when posted to P-Net. I don't know why. I'm hoping this version is more true to what I have on my monitor.
