Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted September 26, 2016 I think the shimmering water serves as a nice backdrop for the ship, toned in a yellowish cast you have made an effective post Link to comment

Leslie Reid 5,214 Posted September 29, 2016 This one slipped by me, Michail--I just found it in the "most discussed" gallery. I love this--your handling of the water gives it so much energy and detail, and it's a stunning background for the boat. I particularly like the low-key handling of the boat--it's dark enough to really make the water glow, yet light enough to show off details, and the strongly silhouetted figure behind the cabin provides a personal connection to the scene. It was the sight of that small figure that made me really start feeling the rolling of the boat and the size of the swells. I'm noticing a very faint grid-pattern artifact throughout the water--something I get on a lot of my images (often in high-contrast areas, often in my b&w conversions, and often in highly processed images; and some views on photonet make it more visible than others). I haven't been able to track down what's causing it, so I haven't yet figured out how to avoid it--if it's something you could give me some advice on, that'd be great. Link to comment
