I appreciate how you layered light and tone here David, the lyrical color pitch between summer and autumn feels so right here. And in the middle of all that beaty Rose knows with pure dog certitude seasons are about to change. She owns the picture!

This is a photo that could easily hang on the wall in any outdoors-man's or dog lover's den. Besides the attractive subject matter it has a wonderful sense of space and a quietly elegant, almost classic composition. It is subtle enough to seem fresh even on repeated viewings.

Carlos, George, & Jack - thank you.

I appreciate your thoughtful words very much.

Rose is 13 and a half now - and although still able to hike and hunt, is no doubt in the autumn of her years.  This portrayal is especially poignant for me, considering our remaining time together may be brief.

In addition to the apt comments before, I would add that this would make a superb oil painting.  A classic composition for a classy lady; well done Rose... Mike
