I recently discovered this image taken 8 years ago in Acadia National Park. Not sure

why I never shared it. Perhaps as I age, my tastes change. Thanks for comments.

I find a combination of the real and the surreal in this image.  Due to their textures and clarity, the rocks belong to the former category.  Yet, the sea water with its gentility and softness might well be seen in a dream.

A beautiful image - to my favorites!

My best,

Patsy, Eystein, Michael and George, thanks for stopping by. I remember why I chose this spot to photograph. To my back is a famous lighthouse and it is late afternoon. Already too many (12, 15 or more?) many photographers had gathered at the 'choice' spots and I did not feel like competing or worse, jostling for a position. I turned away and found this which is probably not quite as appealing as the lighthouse.

George - it is nice to go back, discover and re-process but one critical factor is "Time'.

All the best,

I love this one, Tony. The sea is taking on some of the character of a cloudy sky, and I'm suddenly seeing the rocks start to float away into the clouds--I'm sharing Michael's reading of this as gently and serenely surreal. And I also am really enjoying how the orange hues of the rocks interact with the blues of the sea; I'm glad the greens are so subtle here, so as not to alter the mood.

Nikon D70 or D300?  My guess is the D70, or D70S.  (I know the D300 came out in the fall of 2007 and I didn't buy it until June 2008; and you're usually more cautious to buy than I am!)  But there is a spot in the water on the right side (midway down about 1/7 from the edge) that reminds me of one I had on my D300.  Nice colors and grain.  Regards, Jeff
