Well, I agree with your sentiments. This is another of your everyday shots of the world transmuted to the wondrously bizarre via your always active active imagination. It's the close cropping that does it for me here.

Well, the large view certainly works for me; now if I can just figure out what the subjects are ;-).

+1 for your sentiments.... Mike

Pierre...

BRAVO!  Your placement of the art objects is perfect and they look good against the yellow b/g.  Nicely done.

Thank you, gentlemen!

Mike, I'm surprised that you haven't seen a chestnut before, ha! The one in the middle is a chestnut before opening!

Cheers to that

Better admit that you have never seen "original" chestnut, Mike, ha!

Leslie, that shadow proves that I didn't use direct flash!

Thank you both, gentlemen!

Is autumn from 22 September and colors begin to show the beauty and we like this, always will be a connection between our soul and nature.

There is autumn mood, indeed! Never thought of it!

Buckeyes - not many people know what these are.

They serve no purpose, (as far as I know) but they are loved where ever they go.

Well done my friend

Unmistakably a PD masterpiece. Love the yellow background and the well placed chestnuts. Simple and effective. Take care PD.

Buckey? There isn't such a word in my dictionary, Tony?!

Maybe my English teacher called Kraft would know something about it!

We, here call them wild chestnut and they really aren't eatable!

Nicely said, Holger!

Thank you all, gentlemen!

To echo other comments made above, only those of us who follow your work know what you mean by this image's title.  For you, there is an equivalency between a still life image and an abstract.  It is unnecessary to reiterate the rest of the comments, since I agree with all of them.

There is an element that, so far, no one else has mentioned - the shadows.  Given the relative sizes of the chestnuts, this effect helped me to think that you wanted to present an allegorical story of subjects giving homage to their ruler.

My best always,

michael

Welcome and thank you, Patsy and Michael!

What's a ruler without thorns!

Michael, considering the situation in my fatherland you sent me under the ice, as we say!

As always, you see something others don't, but it's really there!

Thank you very much

I was at our Zoo last evening and some squirrels were busy chattering away and making such a rukus!!  Besides the noise from the thrashing of the limbs and leaves of the tree, there was this intermittent noise caused by chestnuts falling to the ground below.  I could not believe the racket!!  It crossed my mind to try and go over to gather a few Chestnuts but as I got closer, it did not look safe at all. Sure gave me a chuckle. What a surprise to see this delightful Still Life you did Pierre.  Excellent detail and colour.  I have fond memories of collecting Chestnuts this time of year as us children would walk to and from school.  We don't have as many Chestnut trees as we used to it seems.  Thanks so much for sharing Pierre, brought back fond memories and some of the aromas of 'Fall'.

Glad to bring back memories, Gail!

Maybe art is invented for bringing memories back as for telling the reality and the future!

Thank you

Koushik, glad to see you back on my pages!

Thank you

those things, and also, colloquially, people from the state of Ohio in the U.S.A. - so I suppose my father was a Buckeye. j
