Great shot of this iconic bridge - Robeling founded the town Saxonburg, just north of me.

I like how the wire rope reaches out to grab us, pulling our eyes in all directions, a very nice perspective -

This iconic image which captures the amazing structure of this iconic bridge.  But it does more than that; it also captures the bridge's appeal and spirit. Tony's mention of Roebling reminded me of the amazing story of the design and construction of the bridge; there's an excellent book, the partial title of which is "The Great Bridge..."

My best,

Wow, lines, lines and more lines.  I'm undecided about the pedestrians adding to the scene (as is usual for me), but they're real and add nice scale.  I particularly like how the cables lead the eye right up to the flag.  As always, really good stuff.... Mike

Tony, Patsy, Micahel L and Mike (MLM) - I appreciate all of the comments. Thanks.

I took a bus from my niece's place to get to the point where you can start walking on the bridge. I really enjoyed it and because there are so many photo ops, I would recommend this to my photographer friends. Just don't try and climb it to remove the flag proving  that you can do it. It is risky and it can land you in lots of trouble.

On this occasion I traversed the bridge from Brooklyn to Manhattan and then went to Ground Zero.

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. It is 5,989 feet (1,825 meters) long. The bridge goes over the East River. It connects the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is one of the leading landmarks of New York City.

The bridge was built from 1869 to 1883. It was designed by John Roebling. The construction was directed by his son Washington Roebling and Washington's wife, Emily. When it was finished, it was the tallest structure in North America.

I even took images with cyclists, Batman and the cars below.

Don't take it from me alone: here is what a tripAdvisor rater wrote about it recently"

“Breathtaking ”
This is a must see if you're in NYC!! The view is unreal and so beautiful!!

You can take a lot of great pictures and have memories of a lifetime!

Very nice and interesting shot. The black and white works to emphasize the shapes and designs. Wondering how it would look cropped to just be the geometrics and shapes. You might have to do some skew at the top if you do that.

Very nice and graphic composition. Just a little crop on the right would make a perfect symetry (if you like perfect symetry. Me, I like it).
