the Matterhorn

Thanks for the larger version. Well executed, but perhaps not correctly titled since it looks like this is well after sunrise, just cloudy or a ridge behind blocking the sun. I'm a sucker for sun on the mountain with dark clouds behind shots like this.

Well Jim, formally the sun har rised, but it wasn't visible yet because it was very low on the horizon and reached the mountain through a narrow cut between the surrounding mountains. As you can see the horizontal cloud that partially covers the Matterhorn is lighted from below.
