in the forest

I was in the nearby forest last evening and the Sun was already

disappearing, but there were still some faint rays coming thru the

trees. This small and thin tree got some light, as the others were

already in the shadows. Maybe this is not the most interesting photo,

but I thought to share it anyway.

It's these small accidents of light that make each day an adventure for anyone who has eyes to see and the time to actually slow down and look.

To me, this photo would have been much more effective if it had been shot in portrait mode.

The texture on the branches has a special character to it, like frost. Nice use of DOF. I am not sure how it will look in the portrait mode. The scene has mostly vertical lines which may make it more monotonous in vertical portrait frame. I may be wrong though.

Thank you for sharing Timo. I would give it a second interpretation croping the right and only including the vertical trunks in the backgroup as reflections...
